Site rates providers of long-term care
Consumers shopping for a long-term care provider can find help from a new Web site launched Thursday by the California HealthCare Foundation.
The free site, CalQualityCare.org, provides ratings for the state's growing number of residential nursing homes, home health agencies and hospices including 22 facilities in Sacramento, according to the foundation.
The facilities were rated, from "superior" to "poor," on such indicators as staffing levels, reported deficiencies and quality of care. The data are based on information from state and federal agencies.
Of the 22 nursing homes in the Sacramento area, one received a "superior" rating, while eight received "poor" quality ratings, the foundation said.
