Sacramento H1N1 vaccination clinics canceled
The H1N1 vaccination clinics scheduled for Friday and Saturday have been canceled due to weather and a lack of parking.
The forecast for blustery rain for Friday has prompted the Sacramento County Public Health department to cancel the clinic at the Sam Pannell Community Center in Meadoview. The clinic planned at the Town and Country Lutheran Church in Arden Arcade on Saturday has also been cancelled.
"Our foremost concern is for the safety of the public," said County Health Officer Glennah Trochet. "Friday's forecast calls for soaking rain and gusty winds, which would make the outdoor wait for flu shots miserable and unsafe on slippery sidewalks."
Also, initial clinics have drawn big crowds, causing parking problems. Trochet said the clinic at the church that had previously been planned for Saturday would not have enough parking.
The clinics will be rescheduled at a later date. Updates for the H1N1 vaccination clinic schedule will be posted at www.SCPH.com
